Kofi
Kwakwa – CEO
Before founding Sagevest, Kofi was Director
of Strategic Invesments, Joint Ventures
& Alliances at Standard Bank Group,
the largest banking group in Africa and
a leading emerging markets bank. In this
capacity, Kofi directed and made private
equity investments in companies spanning
a wide range of industries. Kofi represented
Standard Bank on boards of companies he
invested in, playing a critical, hands-on
role in corporate governance, strategy development
and execution, as well as performance monitoring
and improvements.

Prior to joining Standard Bank, Kofi was
a senior manager at McKinsey & Company.
He joined the firm in its Washington DC
office and subsequently moved to Johannesburg,
where he was one of the first consultants
charged with developing a new African practice
for the firm. In this capacity, he worked
with CEOs and senior management of several
major corporations across Africa, helping
them develop and implement significant growth
and performance improvement programmes.

Kofi
is a World Economic Forum Global Leader
for Tomorrow, chairs the Board of Directors
of Ashesi University in Ghana, and sits
on the board of Fanisi Venture Capital Management
SA, a Luxembourg - registered Fund investing
in East Africa.

Kofi
attended Achimota Secondary School in Ghana,
before proceeding to obtain a BA in Mathematics
and Economics with a concentration in Public
Policy from Swarthmore College (USA) and
an MBA from Harvard Business School. |
